Care & Maintainance for Electric Dutch Oven

Clean your electric Dutch oven after each use. Always unplug the unit from the wall outlet and let all parts cool to room temperature before cleaning. Before storing, ensure that all surfaces are dry.

Clean Before Use:

  1. We recommend handwashing to extend the life of the cooking pot & lid to preserve the enameled coating.
  2. The inner pot is dishwahser safe.
  3. If food residue sticks on the cooking pot or lid, fill the pot with hot water or immerse the pot lid in hot water for a few hours for easy cleaning.
  4. Use a non-abrasive cleanser or liquid dish soap with a nylon pad or brush to remove the necessary scrubbing. Dry all the exterior surfaces before placing them in the cooker base.

Cooker Base & Power Cord:

  1. Never put the cooker base and power cord in the dishwasher or immerse them in water or other liquid.
  2. Wipe the inside and outside of the cooker base and power cord clean with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Dry before inserting the inner pot.

Rust Precautions:

The rim of the lid and the pot is not enameled and tends to get rusted if you do not dry it sufficiently after being washed or leave it on a draining board to drip dry or clean in the dishwasher. We recommend rubbing a small amount of cooking oil around the rim to create a seal and prevent rust before and after each use and dry it thoroughly after cleaning.
